Neon Lights – Surreal Landscapes by Barry Underwood Apr 8th 2013, 13:26 Usually, a landscape photographer is satisfied with the majesty of nature itself. Mountains, forests and lakes often inspire enough awe on their own. However, Barry Underwood has shown that landscapes can be made even more interesting with a little imagination. Using neon lights and photographic effects, Barry alters the atmosphere and perception of natural scenery. Like a cinematographer or set designer, he actually builds full-scale installations on the site itself. The neon objects are ‘real’, then, despite their surreality.
