Gritty Snippets – Street Photography by Michael Ernest Sweet May 11th 2013, 16:10 Michael Ernest Sweet is a Canadian writer and photographer. His street photography is different, even unique, characterized by a high-contrast grittiness and haphazard framing. Michael works the sidewalks and alleys of New York City and the beaches of Coney Island with small compact cameras and goes in close, very close with a 28mm to capture snippets of the human fragment. His first full-length monograph of street photography is coming later this year from Brooklyn Arts Press in New York. Michael divides his time between Montreal and New York City.
