Calotype Numérique – Classic B/W Portraits by Alexandre Chamelat Jun 10th 2013, 21:10 Alexandre Chamelat is a French photography student from Toulouse. His latest project, Calotype Numérique, is a collection of digital black-and-white portraits imitating the style of 19th-century photos. His main sources of inspiration for this project were the calotype and collodion processing techniques, which were common during the 19th century. Recreating the effect of such old-fashioned techniques, only with contemporary models and equipment, makes his portraits seem both timeless and modern, a unique combination of old and new.
